Until last year, a dumpster was made available (usually October) in the Rec Center parking lot for residents during a two week period to put material in a large dumpster as part of a fall clean-up of their property. In 2009,because of financial constraints, the Board voted not to do the fall clean-up.
Some of the pros and cons of the fall clean-up:
Pros
- Allows residents, at no cost to them, to dump material and debris from their property
- Convenient and easy for residents to use rather than haul away themselves
- Contributes to keeping the neighborhood clean
Cons
- In 2008, 6 dumpster loads at a cost of $3300 were hauled away
- There were reports of landscapers and non-residents dumping material
- Some materials dumped were inappropriate and toxic
